Well the baking has started, finished actually. As some of you guessed it was pie making. Key lime pies. "Theminimice" also have a recipe for how to make it. A trip to the food court

Saturday and a perfect day to visit Oslo's food court called "Mathallen". A great place to find those special ingredients like "fleur de sel" witch I find quite addicting. It tastes so much better than normal salt I think. Also I wanted to check the stand called "Hello pie" I love pies, who doesn't anyway?, and I ended up buying a portion of the lemon meringue pie. Tart and perfectly balanced with a touch of sweetness in the meringue.

Berry Crumble

How about some berry crumble? I love making this in the fall in real life when the berries are ripe and juicy. No trouble making it in the winter either as berries is so easy to find nowdays, fresh or frozen. Still the miniature variation you see here must be my favorite.

French treats

Making apples

 

It surely suits the weather these days to sculpt apples. Rosy apples for the mice so they can make cider, apple cakes and crumbles.

 

A new mouse house

The latest house I am currently working on will be the the largest house in the apple tree garden. I think it has as much as 19 rooms, both large and small.This house was traded to me by Kari Mette Tvedt. It first belonged to Hild Tove Aslaksen. Both Norwegian miniaturist.They have put some effort into this house and I would like to thank and credit them for it.The baguette holder is also made by Kari Mette Tvedt. The Mini Mice, a new blog!

I have made a new blog devoted to the mini mice I am currently making. The blog is called

You will also see how they live and what they are up to. I will still have this blog Little Treasure for all kind of minis.

Here you have mr Mice. The first one made with flocking. The cat is very curious, but I actually think they can become friends

 

 

It was great fun to get to know you Cat, but I have some work to do. Better clean those floors.

Cider making

                

 

The cider making has started in the mouse house. I bought some ready made bottles that I made new labels for. Also made the wooden crates.

Now I need to make hundreds of apples to put in crates and for the pressing machine. Weird to make them after the cider has been made though, but in mini world one can actually do that…

Summer feast

 

Today there's a summer feast in the mouse house kitchen. Fresh cooked lobster, salad and bread.

 

 

 

 

 

A potholder has been added to the kitchen. Those mice sure  like to cook.

Mouse house bedroom

 

Monday morning today, and showing one of the mouse house bedrooms. Very romantic decorated with pastel colors.

 

The beautiful baby crib was made by Janne Mauritzen A very talented furniture maker and a Norwegian friend.

No sight of the mice yet…guess they are out blueberry picking or something. Before they left they made some very nice smelling breads in the kitchen.

 

Here you can see some of my purchase that  I bought while I was in London. Beautiful porcelain by Avon. I think they were made for my mouse house.

The beautiful “flie” cabinet on the table was made by Kari Mette Tvedt. They will be storing pies and eggs in it.

Mouse house

Lately I have spent some time on the large mouse house mansion. It’s a big apple tree and as I have told you before they will be producing apple cider and apple pies in the kitchen. It is not finished yet but wanted you to see how it looks at this stage. I like the terrace addition I made on the top and the apple tree flowers gives it a cozy feel I think.

A close up of the bark and flowers. The lighting is bad, no sunshine nearby me, only rain and dark clouds. Doesn't make good pictures, but it makes me creative and work inside so it’s good for something.

Norwegian chocolate

Today me and my husband had a trip to Oslo in Norway for lunch.  We also visited a little chocolate shop. Not far from our home, just a quick drive in nice spring weather. I wanted to show you what we have to offer from my country. I am sure I speak for most Norwegians when saying that we have the best chocolate in the world. The company Freia was founded in 1889, but real success was seen only in 1892, when Johan Throne Holst (1868–1946) took over management. Holst built up Freia to be Norway's leading chocolate manufacturer. By the turn of the century, Freia was the leading Norwegian brand in sweets.
We bought some chocolates called twist. We wanted to celebrate our 22 wedding anniversary today.

I also love the porcelain with the cutest drawings with a retro feel to it. Some of the cups and plates has recipes written on them. The hot chocolate shouldn’t be to hard to make if one have one of these I would think.
              
A selection of a chocolate called twist. In most stores you have to buy a ready filled bag with assorted chocolates. In this little chocolate store on Karl Johan street it is allowed to just pick your favorite, and everyone has a favorite. For me it’s the milk chocolate with apricot cream filling and the dark chocolate with banana cream.  My husband wanted the licorice and caramel.
